RB Painting: Residential, Interior and Exterior Home Painting
RB Painting is owned by Gary Baker, a second generation craftsman painter with thirty years of personal painting expertise. Although Gary has experience in the full gamut of painting, including industrial, commercial, and new homes, his current specialty is custom residential repaints. When Gary began, he apprenticed for his stepfather who taught him all the “old school” methods of painting. As he gained experience he incorporated new techniques and materials. Yet, RB Painting always retains the good old-fashioned craftsmanship that isn’t so easy to find these days. He still works on every job, every day, giving clients the level of personal attention and quality assurance they deserve. It is what you deserve, as well.
RB Painting Has A Long History

The actual name RB Painting has two meanings. Over the years, most of Gary’s painting experience was in Rancho Bernardo and Poway. The real origin of the name isn’t quite so simple. The “RB” comes from a combination of two company names: Don Reiber Painting and Gary Baker Painting. In 1964, Gary’s step father, Don Reiber, was a journeyman painter who worked for one of the original developers of Rancho Bernardo, AVCO. Eventually, he started his own business, Don Reiber Painting, married Gary’s mother, and throughout the late 1970’s taught Gary how to paint. In the 1980s, Gary decided to branch out on his own by opening Gary Baker Painting. Stepfather and son reunited in the 1990’s to become partners in RB Painting, deriving the R from Reiber and the B from Baker. Don passed away several years ago but Gary retains the name in Don’s honor.

Today, Gary is a San Diego County painting and decorating contractor. He is licensed (C-33) by the State of California Contractors State License Board.
